Have you ever read a blog and be inspired to start an online career? I certainly did. Being highly interested in women entrepreneurship and achievement, I follow a few successful female bloggers who are really passionate in what they do. In this article, I would like to share some of their stories with you.
#1 – Natalie Sisson
Natalie is originally from New Zealand and has 8 years of corporate experience before she found her calling to become a blogger.
When she co-founded a technology startup called FundRazr in 2008, she realized that the lack of women entrepreneur in the online world is very evident.
With a strong desire to transform dreams into reality for everyone, she founded Suitcase Entrepreneur in 2010 and planted the vision to create freedom in business and adventure in life for 100,000 entrepreneurs by the year 2020.
Her blog is filled with eBooks, podcast and video series to help budding entrepreneurs start their own online business – the fun way.
Besides entrepreneurship achievement, Natalie has also won numerous accolades over the years in the area of sports (body sculpting being one of it) and technology development. As an avid traveler, she is also known as a digital nomad who runs her 6 figure business from various parts of the world.
#2 – Ree Drummond
Ree is a fun-loving country housewife who blogs from a ranch while raising 4 children, cattles and much more. Her passion for all things mothers are clearly expressed in her beautiful blog, The Pioneer Woman, where she writes daily about her country lifestyle, gardening and homeschooling.
However, her biggest passion of all would have to be her food blog, where she shares cooking and recipe tips with her audience. You should visit her blog too when you get the chance – it will make your mouth water 🙂
She also shares these recipes on her weekly show called The Food Network that is available to watch online. If you like to get involved in the fun, you can join Tasty Kitchen, the food community which she co-founded, to share your own recipes with other members.
Besides blogging, Ree keeps herself busy by writing cookbooks and children’s books that feature Charlie, her Basset Hound ranch dog. All her books can be found at most major online retailers.
She’s truly one of the most successful working mothers out there.
#3 – Jenny Blake
Jenny started writing at the age of 11 years old and created her first website in her early 20’s. She’s a city girl at heart and has a passion for all things books, gadgets and spiritual discoveries.
While working with Google, she took up coaching certification and even wrote her own book. On 2011, she left Google to grow her blog and to explore her spiritual side in Yoga and massage training.
Jenny believes that most of us are sleepwalking in our own dreams, hence she created Life After College to inspire youth with a clear message; “Wake up, live big and love the journey.”
The blog is dedicated to fresh graduates and mid-career changers who are experiencing challenging transition in life which can sometimes be very confusing.
Having been there, Jenny knows that most college students lack guidance in life especially on what to do after graduation. She addresses this issue by writing extensively on topics such as career, money, goals and relationship and how all these can sum up to give you a more successful life.
Jenny is such a prolific writer that she actually wrote a list of “100 things about me” on her blog. I am not sure if I have that much to say about myself, but it sure seems like Jenny and I have a lot of things in common 🙂
#4 – Lizzie Velasquez
Lizzie is a 25 year old video blogger with a major in communication studies from Texas State University. She’s an author, a motivational speaker and even has a documentary of her own called “The Lizzie Project”.
The documentary aims to create an awareness about (cyber) bullying and what we can do to curb the evidently rising problem. And why is she so involved in this issue? Because Lizzie has been a victim of cyber bullying for as long as she has known the internet.
You see, Lizzie has an extremely rare medical condition that doesn’t allow her to gain weight. Her body has no capacity AT ALL to store fat and as a result of that, she looks very different from the rest of us. Although her condition predisposes her to a lot of limitations, she’s is just like any girl out there who wants to be successful in life.
Supported by her faith in God and her family, she created her own YouTube channel that has now more than 150,000 subscribers in which she shares her adventurous life with us. She updates her blog regularly and travels around the world, delivering inspiration and strength that transpire from her own challenges.

Hi Cathy,
I really enjoyed reading your post of successful female bloggers. And you know what, it was inspiring to me.
I totally believe that women are the voice of tomorrow ?

What a inspiration these women are! How they just started doing what they wanted and became what they are, and made big money on top of it. Now THAT is a success story. There are many more I am sure out there that have stories like this I think there could be a book made of stories of inspiration of the Y generation or the online generation.
Great job presenting their motivation and inspiration to us and where to go to take the next step.

Hi there Tony,
Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that successful people are once upon a time like us – they just start with something that they like, keep doing it until they make it. The most important thing is that they are always taking action and don’t give up. This is what drives many online entrepreneurs to success in the training at Wealthy Affiliate.

Hi Cathy,
I really enjoyed reading your post of successful female bloggers. And you know what, it was inspiring to me.
It’s nice to read about people, man or women, who have worked hard to bring something special to the world, and now are being recognized and rewarded for their hard work.
Thanks for sharing this with me – very nice.

It’s really amazing that these people can build things up so high from scratch. Natalie Sisson definitely has a very ambitious goal, but I wish her the very best of luck. Do you reckon you could do that by 2020?
But it does goes to show that if you really want to make success happen online, you can. It just takes goals, a plan, and the drive and motivation to consistently take all the little in between steps to make it happen. Because ultimately it’s action that matters. Ideas and plans mean absolutely nothing without action. Of course, misguided action is bad too.
But once you have a plan that will work, it’s about taking action every day. Consistent work is what matters.
Cathy says
I couldn’t agree better Marcus.
Blogging is all about taking action, interacting with people and research on new topics for the readers. It is also something that I enjoy doing since I become a blogger myself.
By year 2020 (that’s 5 years from now), I hope to help more people achieve time freedom through online entrepreneurship. I believe that by having more time, we can give ourselves better quality of life doing things that matters to ourselves and the community.

Great list of inspiring women bloggers! I’ve heard of a couple of these bloggers but not all of them, so it was fun to check them out. I liked Life After College in particular – there are a lot of great tips on that blog that can be applied to people whose college days are several years or even decades behind them!
I am also happy to see Ree Drummond on this list, because I find that so many people focus on younger twenty-something bloggers and totally forgotten that older women can become bloggers too.
Cathy says
Hi there Samantha,
This goes to show that there’s no age limit when it comes to blogging. As long as you consistently write something that you are passionate about, you can build your own audience through a blog. Hmm, I probably should research more on older bloggers and see what kind of inspiration I can draw for my readers. Thanks for the idea.
