Calling all travel bloggers who wants to grow their online business. How do you engage and deliver something that is useful for your readers besides just recommending physical products? In this review, I’ll show you what is Triphobo and how this program can boost your blog for the better.
What Is Triphobo
In the old days, you would have a Lonely Planet guide on one hand and a travel itinerary on the other. Anyone who has done that would know how cumbersome this is – it’s messy and careless because people lose their things all the time.
That’s where Triphobo comes into the picture. The smart app helps people plan their trips online, using reference from other travelers while keeping up with popular destinations. You can view your travel itinerary, access tourist information and most importantly, plan a suitable budget. Since it allows people to edit their holiday plans on the go, it makes traveling more interactive and flexible too.
How Does The Blogger Program Works
To get into the blogger program (aka affiliate program), you must first sign up for an account. Part of the details would require your profile image, but that’s not a big deal. Once that’s done, you’d be able to access your user dashboard.
There are generally two types of affiliate links that you can use;
- A banner which is a widget that would fit nicely on your website header, footer or sidebar for readers to begin their search.
- ‘Trip Plan’ which is another widget that displays a travel itinerary (that you have created) on a scroll-able interface.
In order to embed these widgets, you need to be able to access the HTML editor on your website (that’s why I recommend to use WordPress) and paste the code where you want them to be shown.
How Much Can You Make
There are 2 forms of monetization through the blogger program. For widgets, you’ll make $1 for every 10 clicks and 7 cents for every click on TripHobo partner hotels at the end of the plan. The biggest payout – 50% commission – will be rewarded when someone book their travels through you. How awesome is that?
Now let’s see how we can get more people to click those widgets.
How To Integrate TripHobo Into Blog
In order to give people a good reason to check out TripHobo, you need to offer some helpful and relevant content to what your audience is searching for. Here’s where understanding keyword research would help, if you haven’t already done so.
Many people go online everyday to find a solution to their travel ‘problems’. Targeting a certain keyphrase will help you reach out to this group of people. What do you think that is on people’s mind when they search on Google?
If your answer is a term like ‘Italy vacation’, there’s a slim chance (or none at all) that your blog would show up on the first page of Google. According to Jaaxy Keyword Tool, this term is too broad and way too competitive (QSR = 240) despite its popularity (AVG = 36360).
Let’s try to break things down a little bit more. Would ‘Italy planning guide’ be a better term to use?
Not quite either. Although it has a fairly low competition (QSR = 4), it’s not a very well searched term (AVG = <10).
Ok, what about ‘Italy vacation planner’? They sound like the same thing.
Now, that looks like a better keyphrase. Fairly high searches (AVG = 136) and low in competition (QSR = 45). But there’s one problem; it lacks user intent. We need a word – a verb if you will – to get readers to take action. That’s where long-tail keywords become important. Check this one out.
This term is great for a blog post. It describes exactly what people are searching for, ties in very well with your TripHobo offer and it’s super low in competition (QSR = 3). Not only would it put you on the first page of Google, you could also rank for other related terms such as;
- how to plan a trip
- plan a trip to Italy
- Italy on a budget
- how to plan a trip on a budget
- how to plan a trip to Italy
You see, the more keywords you are ranking for, the more traffic and clicks/bookings you’d get. That’s how you can integrate TripHobo to make your blog convert better.
Is TripHobo Worthy of Your Time?
As an avid traveler, I really like this app and I think whoever that created this program is ingenious. Placing all the necessary travel information in a visual and interactive manner helps people to be better prepared for where they want to go.
It’s a neat app in which I anticipate will only become more popular as people travel more places (which is already a trend these days). And since the end result is creating a travel savvy community and generating extra cash for you, I would say that the Triphobo Blogger Program is very well worth your time.
I hope you’ll consider using this tool for your travel blog. If you need any help getting more traffic/sales to your site, do check out the Wealthy Affiliate training platform for more tools and training details.

Sounds like a great little app Cathy.
I have never heard of them before as I let my wife do all the vacation planning. She loves doing that. I will be sure and ask her to check it out. I am not into the travel niche, but I can really see how this would incorporate nicely into an affiliate blog.
How old is this app? It sounds fairly new to me.
Cathy says
Hi Peter, this app started around 2012 by the name of Joguru. It was later rebranded into TripHobo to raise more fund and to grow their user outreach.

Hi Cathy,
Thanks so much for sharing this article about Triphobo. I’m lucky to live in a tourist place in Quebec, where many people visit the area during the summer, and I think there are still lots of good work to do for this area to its best for business owners.
At the same time, I’m Mexican and I used to travel to Mexico every year. There are plenty of great tourist business going on there.
I have been thinking about starting a blog about visiting a beautiful place in Mexico and to share with the world about its beauty, history and culture. Triphobo will be something to keep in my mind when I get this travel blog running.
Also, what you share about keywords on this article makes more clear to understand on how to use them.

HI there Cathy,
Thank you kindly for this report on Triphobo! I have been irking to create a travel blog for a while, but not sure of ways to monetize it other than essential gadgets, gizmos, accessories and so on. Considering I have extensive knowledge of half a dozen countries that I have lived, traveling tips content is pretty easy to come up with.
Heading off to check out this Triphobo program. Many thanks 🙂

Hi Cathy,
Trip Hobo will definitely become part of my family’s travel planning.
Just being able to plan our holiday travel ‘on the fly’ so to speak, is a huge benefit. Too many times we are guilty of losing something or other as it pertains to our travel plan, so having all in one place couldn’t be more convenient.
Thanks also for the search engine tip. Just reading this one post by you helped me better understand the importance of long-tail keywords research.
Awesome post!

As an avid traveler and internet marketing ‘apprentice’, I believe that TripHobo is a great tool to try. Their affiliate program seems quite good, and I will give it a try. The fact that they have mobile apps for both IOS and Android, makes it easy for people to access it on the move. TripHobo has now been added to my list of bookmarks and I’ll make sure to give it a go.
