Do you have a passion for blending and making delicious dishes by using Vitamix products? I do too. But what if there’s an opportunity for you to make smoothies AND money at the same time? I can sense your excitement already. In today’s article, you are going to learn how to sell Vitamix online and build a long-term business around it.
What Is Vitamix?
Vitamix is a blender company that has been around since the 1930’s. Based in Ohio, the products are proudly manufactured in the United States and has a long history of advocating healthier lifestyle through consuming whole foods. As a powerful and versatile household brand, Vitamix products is well known for grinding grain, kneading dough and making smoothies.
How to Sell Vitamix Online?
The method of selling Vitamix online that I’ll be showing you here is through affiliate marketing. In this business model, you are given a unique ID (aka affiliate link) to use on a website. When someone reads your recommendation and purchase the product through your affiliate ID which is usually found in product reviews, you’ll earn a commission from the transacted sales.
There are two ways to go about this. First, you could sign up as an Amazon Associate OR you could apply directly with the company on their main website. The difference here is the commission rate. With Amazon, your commission starts from 4%, but with Vitamix direct affiliation, you could earn between 5% to 15%.
Sounds interesting, so far? Now, let’s see what you’ll need to get started.
Niche Brainstorming
Before we get into the technical stuff, think for a moment who would want to buy Vitamix online. This will be the group of people that you are going to focus on as your niche moving forward. Here are some examples;
- Mothers / Homemakers
- Health conscious individuals
- Restaurateur / People who are involved in the food and beverage industry
All of them come from different backgrounds, but ultimately, their goal is to look for a product that is durable, multipurpose and produces good results consistently. Vitamix obviously meet this criteria and it’s your job as an affiliate marketer to identify their needs and to see how this powerful blender can help them achieve their desired lifestyle or business goals.
The Basic Tools
Even without any experience, I can assure you that creating a website is not a difficult thing to do. To get started, you’ll need to create a domain name. What’s important to take note here is that you DO NOT use the term ‘Vitamix’ in the name as this is considered copyright infringement.
It’s best to get something that reflects your niche so if you are targeting the health conscious group, you could call your website “healthyblendfood.com”. At SiteRubix, this domain is still available for purchase at $13.99/year, so go grab it if you want to.
The platform also offers a one-click installation for WordPress, so after getting that domain, you can connect to your website immediately and go live. Read this page to learn more about the awesome SiteRubix hosting features.
Use Targeted Keywords to Promote Vitamix
The way information appears on the internet is through keywords and for your blog to appear in front of your niche, you’ll need to find out what kind of keywords they are using to search for blender related products.
A general assumption is that people would type in something simple like the brand name, but this term is too broad from the aspect of keyword research. A broad term is something that’s not specific and usually has no buying consideration or intention. Using such terms has very minimal advantage to you as an affiliate marketer.
Take a look at the examples of the keywords below.
Although they garner a lot of searches (see AVG values), they also have a high level of competitions (see QSR values). Chances are, within that competition, you are up against Vitamix, which is going to be hard to outrank as they are definitely going to get more visitors than your site (in the beginning).
Therefore, it’s always better to go for something more descriptive. A term like “Vitamix S50 Personal Blender Review” would suggest that someone is looking for more information on this particular product before purchasing it.
And if you are planning to use these keyphrase for your blog, you are in luck because according to Jaaxy Keyword Tool, it only has ONE competing website.
Besides writing product reviews, you can also reach out to your niche using tutorial type of articles. This is quite popular because people always search the internet to learn about something and if your article is helpful, they may just buy into your product recommendation.
Coming up with these types of keywords can be challenging at first, but Google has a unique tool to help you right on your browser. It’s called the Alphabet Soup Technique and if you type a few phrases into the search bar, Google will suggest a couple more terms that are also popular online.
In this case, I am looking for ‘how to make b…smoothies’.
From that one topic, Google came up with 5 more new ideas on how to make smoothies using specific flavors. Going back to keyword research, here are the competition results for each keyphrases.
- how to make banana smoothies (QSR = 30)
- how to make blueberry smoothies (QSR = 28)
- how to make breakfast smoothies (QSR = 32)
- how to make berry smoothies (QSR = 27)
- how to make banana strawberry smoothies (QSR = 35)
Look at that! These are all very low competition keywords that you can use to write tutorial based articles and link to your product review page. Now, can you see the advantage of using descriptive keywords on your blog as opposed to broad and general terms.
TIPS – Always think from the perspective of your readers. What kind of problems/situations do you think they would face and how can you help them with your tutorials and product review?
Keep that in mind as you continue to publish articles on a regular basis. This will attract the traffic that you want and more targeted visitors will generally translate to more sales commission for you.
So, Is Vitamix Worthy of Your Time?
Vitamix stands out in many ways when it comes to food technology and preparation. As an affiliate, you have every reason to invest your time in recommending the product for these reasons;
1) The company is always innovative and it has a long history of producing good quality products and services.
2) The resources for affiliates are outstanding (attractive banner links, blending recipes and etc.)
3) A quick look at the product reviews on Amazon will tell you that many are happy users of Vitamix.
4) In terms of future prospect, we can see from Google Trends that the brand has an on-going popularity that isn’t going to slow down anytime soon.
5) When it comes to profit, you can expect to earn about $14/sale as an Amazon Associate recommending the S50 Personal Blender. For the same product, you could earn up to about $62/sale if you are directly affiliated to Vitamix. That’s even better.
Now, if you implement the keyword research techniques that I’ve just shared and your site is selling 10 units of this model per month, your profit could range between $140 to $620 for just one product review. That would be a nice additional income, don’t you think? The best part of all is that these earnings are recurrent (and potentially growing) because of the trend that I’ve just shown you.
Overall, this is one company that you should really consider if you have the passion for blending and want to monetize from it.
I hope this article has given you a better idea on how to sell Vitamix online. If you are serious about promoting products from this company, I highly recommend to join the training at Wealthy Affiliate. It has all the tools and resources to help you grow a successful online business.

I really enjoyed reading your post. Vitamix is a great product. If it wasn’t, it would have disappeared long ago. Finding a product like this, that has stood the test of time and is still very popular is an excellent way to start an affiliate marketing business. Is there a lot of competition for promoting Vitamix? Do you think the market will continue to grow because so many people are becoming far more health conscious?
Cathy says
Hi Margaret,
1) Yes, I would expect a fair amount of competition in the juicing niche, but that shouldn’t stop someone from promoting the product. As I’ve demonstrated, the actual competition is at the keyword level, not the overall niche itself.
2) Health conscious society is growing everyday and I would consider this as an evergreen niche, with a long term on-going trend.

I really like your approach. Vitamix is very popular and I think a lot of people would get a lot out of creating an affiliate income around Vitamix. You have given me a lot to think about.
I like the idea of becoming an affiliate of Vitamix. I would have to sign up directly to the Vitamix company as my state has created an environment where Amazon does not allow affiliates. Will definitely look into it. Thanks!
Cathy says
Glad you benefited from this post, Cynthia. That’s definitely an opportunity to venture into.

I love your site and much more your review of Vitamix . I own the product and do regularly use it for all sorts of blending. I also have the dry attachment and never used it.
I see an opportunity here and like the way you’ve analysed it from getting a domain to keyword search and building a site.
One thing I do find a bit confusing is that SiteRubix is worth $13.99. I thought the SiteRubix sites are free.
It would be better to register directly with Vitamix but do you know how long it takes? Also can one promote the same product through both affiliate providers?
Cathy says
Hey Kavinah;
1) The domain fee at SiteRubix cost $13.99 and if you want to have it hosted there, it would all be included in the Wealthy Affiliate premium membership. If you are not ready to buy one, you can build a subdomain website for free and get free hosting at WA.
2) There are no rules that say you can’t promote from two affiliate providers, but you have to do some testing to see which one converts better and then just go with one to maximize your conversion.
3) Affiliate program application usually takes a couple of days.
Hope this helps to answer your questions.

Hi Cathy,
Great information about the benefits of selling Vitamix! I am wonder if I should be looking for keywords that have more traffic even if they have 200 QSR? I also understand that you make more commission on the direct affiliate program, but isn’t it true that you can make commission off of everything a consumer buys through your Amazon affiliate link? Would this be better? Or do you think that the direct affiliate program with Vitamix is the best choice?
Cathy says
Hi Owen, it all depends on how you link your product review to the offers from either Amazon or Vitamix. These products can have its highs and lows depending on the season and you need to research which merchants will offer better deals for your conversion. I’ve explained the details in my reply to Derek’s comment below.
Hope this helps.

Hi there Cathy,
Love this site! One of my go to sites for money making ideas and as it is, I need to review a new blender!
I had no idea they have their own affiliate program. Now as an experienced affiliate marketer yourself, which one of the two affiliate programs would you recommend? Bearing it mind it is pretty easy to get to Amazons 6% or 6.5% tier of commissions and Amazon, essentially speaking, is a conversion machine – converting between 10% to 20% where as independent affiliate programs, tend to convert at 1% to 2% on average.
Quite a choice as being the manufacturer of the product, they too would carry some weight in the trust factor that Amazon dominates (people buy from amazon all the time).
My chain of thoughts is that although the commission on Amazon is smaller you would convert better and quite possibly make more money.
Cathy says
Hi there Derek, the choice here depends on what kind of perks each has to offer. Retail price and popularity wise, buying from Amazon is clearly cheaper by a couple of dollars, but keep in mind that Vitamix includes extra items (cookbook, tamper, DVDs) for free with each purchase.
In addition, Vitamix has recently launched some payment plans which makes owning a blender more affordable. These features are something that can benefit your readers so if you know how to tie them together within your product review/shopping trends, I don’t see why the independent affiliate program isn’t a better choice from a marketer’s point of view.
