Have you heard about making money with membership sites? According to Chris Luck, this million-dollar industry is growing exponentially every year and he’s going to teach you how to leverage this online trend. So let’s jump right into the Membership Method review and see what this is all about.
Who Is Chris Luck?
He’s an internet entrepreneur who has been involved in online businesses since the ’90s and has made quite a comfortable living over the years. I first knew about him through a site called The Marketers Paradise which I reviewed two years ago.
It was a membership platform comprised of in-depth training on various marketing topics from website building, keyword research, and traffic generation. The site has since become inactive and I don’t know if he’s reconstructing the whole thing or rebranding it as The Membership Method (MM)
Anyways…
How I Discovered The Membership Method Program
Well, it was basically a rabbit hole process. I was reading an email offer, one-click lead to another and before I knew it, I landed on the sales page of the program. At first glance, I thought it was another hyped make-money-online offers, but when I saw the familiar name “Chris Luck”, it rang a bell.
As you can read, it was pretty self-explanatory with a few tempting words that couldn’t be missed like “New Stream Of Predictable Passive Income” and “Free On-Demand Training”. I thought, what have I got to lose so I went to check it out.
My Impression of The Free Training
The format of this training is basically a 1 hour plus video walkthrough that explains about the membership site business model and what is required to get it running to make a profit. For the most part, it was full of useful information yet it didn’t escape the typical success-drill talk that seems to pervade most online opportunity programs.
However, I did learn a few things that I didn’t know before so that was good.
Who Should Consider Joining The Program?
The step-by-step training is targeted at individuals or businesses that can transform knowledge into digital products/services and have them made available through membership sites. In other words, it is for people who are interested to become a membership site owner.
- Affiliate marketer
- Agency Owner
- Amazon Seller
- Author
- Blogger
- Life or Business Coach
- Consultant
- Freelancer
- Influencer
- Info Product Creator
- Network Marketer
- Podcaster
- YouTuber
Abundant information creates value within a certain platform and naturally encourages more people to join. Theoretically, the potential for making more money becomes greater as the number of membership increases.
Another reason to join is if you are involved in the internet marketing niche and looking for opportunities with the make-money-online affiliate programs. Chris offers a lucrative sales commission for his training and I’ll talk more about that shortly.
What Is Inside The Membership Method Training?
The user dashboard is divided into several sections namely, the training area, the bonus area, the mastermind group, workshop, partner program, and support.
The main thing here is the step-by-step training called Masterclass and it consists of six modules that run over the course of 6 weeks. Here’s a rundown on what each week has to offer;
- Week 1 – The Roadmap; you’ll be learning about how to find a profitable niche, coming up with a brand and registering for a domain name.
- Week 2 – Content; learn to research for content that can sells and ways to produce them.
- Week 3 – Development; you’ll get to see examples of some membership sites here, how to set up your own site and creating a funnel for the content to convert.
- Week 4 – Free Marketing; learning how to get free traffic to your site.
- Week 5 – Paid Advertising; learning how to get paid traffic to your site.
- Week 6 – Automation; learning how to set up the site so that it promotes automatically.
The access to all classes is immediate – not drip feed – and they are primarily video tutorials ranging from 5 to 30 minutes long. At the end of each week, there will be an assessment to recap what has been learned. If you’ve any questions, you can ask other members through the forum area or attend the live Q&A sessions with the founder himself.
How Much Does It Cost?
The fee to join the Membership Method is $2,997 per time, but Chris will generously bring it down to $1,997 if you pay in full. Alternatively, there’s also the 6 monthly option at the cost of $397, but you would end up paying more that way.
Along with the training, Chris promises the following bonuses for you. In fact, these are the areas that you would see inside the user dashboard.
- Traffic Bonus – Help you get the first 100 paying members for your membership site for free in the first 30 days.
- Template Bonus – Helping you to design a successful membership site.
- Workshop Bonus – Access to the monthly workshop that lets you ask questions directly to Chris.
- Mastermind Bonus – Offers 12 months of help and support.
- Partnership Bonus – Become a partner and earn $750 every time you refer someone new to the Membership Method. This is the lucrative commission I mentioned earlier.
Apart from that, you need to be aware of the additional costs that will incur with this business model. Some are basic stuff and some are optional, meaning that you can reinvest when the site is making a profit.
- The cost of a domain = $15++ per month
- The cost of a website hosting = $10 to $30++ per month
- Membership platform = Usually cost between hundreds per month (some comes with website hosting so that will reduce the expenditure)
- A funnel software (optional) = Also within the range of hundreds per month
To make everything worth your money, Chris personally guarantee that if you don’t succeed in building a membership site within 12 months, he will step in to help 1-on-1 until the site is generating passive income. I’ve never seen any marketer who offers that kind of assurance before so I thought that was pretty confident of him.
The Pros
Having reviewed so many crappy online programs for the past few weeks, I am glad to find a few positive features worth mentioning here. It makes me feel hopeful that good training programs still exist out there in the marketing world.
1 – First, Chris appears to be a real person. There are photos of himself, his family and also video interviews on YouTube. He appears to speak from experience and made it very clear from the beginning that this isn’t some kind of get-rich-quick program.
2 – Second, the layout of the training is well-organized and it seems like he has invested a lot of time and effort putting his knowledge together in a step-by-step manner. The quality of the information is also one of the best I’ve seen so far as he covers everything from the basics to the advanced marketing technique.
3 – I like the fact that he’s teaching you to create something of value, leveraging from your own knowledge and turning it into something profitable. Such a business model can be applied to any type of niche where people come online together to learn new things and acquire skills. together.
4 – This program doesn’t just train you to promote itself, but if you do, the reward is a big commission of $750 per sale. If you can find a targeted audience for this program, it’s not impossible to make that kind of money online.
The Cons
Like any other training program, the Membership Method isn’t without its downsides so here are few things you need to be aware of before diving all in.
1 – One of the techniques Chris recommends for creating content is to use resell rights, in other words, PLR products. These are basically a bunch of articles/books written by other people but can be used to market under your brand name.
PLR is very popular in the past and still is, but using it word for word can jeopardize your reputation as a creator. What if other people ordered the same package and republished the content? You’ll run into the issue of duplication and although the audience might not be aware, the search engines will find out about it sooner or later.
Nowadays, PLR is used with modification so even when it is bought as a ready-made product, it’s highly encouraged to tweak it in order to make the content ‘sound more original’ or at least give the impression that it was created by you.
It’s a bit of a sneaky method if you asked me and if you are truly knowledgable, your time is better invested in something that is creative and genuine. I am sure the audience can read between the lines and people might be upset when they found out you are using generic information to get them into a membership site. That’s so not cool, right?
2 – Creating a membership site that aims to be profitable for the long run can take a lot of planning time, 6 to 12 months or maybe more. It’s not like you’ll be earning a passive income by just completing the 6 weeks course. We are talking about the long haul here so preferably so it’s best to run it with a team rather than all by yourself.
3 – Since it’s a fairly new program, there’s nothing much going on in the forum area for now. You’ll see some discussions, but it wouldn’t be as engaging as what you would experience with this robust online community.
4 – Needless to say, this is a pricey program, to begin with, and there are also additional monthly fees from other services to maintain the business. The overall expenses can be out of most people’s budgets.
The way I look at it, courses and bonuses may be beneficial in the first few months, but such training can also be obtained elsewhere at a lower fee – if you care to search. Therefore, Chris needs to include something more valuable within the membership to justify the entire cost.
5 – As for the lucrative commission, I have my doubts about the sales of the program. Although I may not have access to any data, the Clickbank gravity score on the merchant page is only XX (yes, this is another Clickbank product).
That’s probably one of the lowest I’ve seen so far and it makes me wonder if the program is really as attractive as it seems? Was it too expensive or just a general lack of positive testimonials from the users?
That type of statistic makes me think twice about joining their affiliate program.
My Verdict
Overall, the idea of profiting from a membership site, either as the product owner or an affiliate, is a good one. With more people seeking for digital information and online interaction, the trend for this type of business model is going to be popular due to the potential of recurring revenue, either on a monthly or yearly basis.
In terms of the program, Chris seems like a legit and knowledgeable guy. His content feels original, he doesn’t over-promote and most importantly, the training can be applied to any niche that leverage education as a solution to people’s problems and needs.
However, just like any business, it will take time especially if you never have any experience with digital product creation. The investment is going to be hefty and so is the amount of work – that’s a given fact.
If you want to take your expertise to a new level, building a membership site is something to consider. However, if you prefer something less costly but still present the same amount of opportunity, affiliate marketing is a better alternative to start an online business.
You can focus more on the marketing aspect and earn faster with sales commissions. For example, these are my recurring income by promoting a membership site and guess what? The cost of running my business is only about $1 per day.

I agree – the subscription business is here to stay. It is easier to project how much you will be making so you can develop your products or services into the future. The Membership Method program seems like a good training platform to learn about membership promotion. The price tag is a little too steep though.

The Membership Method actually looks and sounds decent. It seems to include some tough information too, but the price is extremely high. I understand that it takes money to make money and that starting a membership site is all about starting a business, but the price tag isn’t what everyone can afford. Not knocking the program here and I’m actually tempted to give it a go in the near future. That’s just me though.

Hi Cathy, your review of the Membership Method program is thorough and very concise. I have to agree though, PLR products sound sketchy. I would be worried about using that to create content or engage with my audience. Also, the cost is outrageous. I don’t think it’s suitable for beginner’s level.

I’ve seen this program being promoted before, but I never tried it because of the huge price tag. I saw the advertisement again today, and I wanted to make sure I check some reviews before I dive right in. What I like is the success guarantee – a year long success guarantee is something rare. I have never seen any program that offers that before. It seems unreal.
I wonder how many businesses actually have proven success with Chris Luck…

Hi Cathy,
I think the idea of having a membership site is a great one. It’s a great way of creating passive income online due to the recurring payment. But it can only work if the content within the platform is helpful to people. As for the part of using PLRs, I don’t think that will produce quality content for the long term and keep people in your membership site.
The price point is also a huge factor. If I am new to online marketing, I wouldn’t be investing in that kind of sum. It may be more suited for experienced marketers.
Chris says
Well, I suppose that making money through running membership sites is a pretty new angle but at the end of the day, who has over a grand spare to spend on training when they first come online with minimal to no experience?
I can’t see this product or its forum becoming popular in any way because there are far cheaper ways to get started working online. How unique is the training and content he offers? Can it be found elsewhere online for free?
Cathy says
The unique part I feel about this training is that you can get personal guidance from the tutor himself. I don’t think tools and platforms come with the fee you are paying for. As for most topics, you can surely get them online for free. There are many bloggers who write about starting a membership site business and some of them are actually by companies or software that help to set up such business.
It’s definitely worth checking out what’s out there before committing to a high price training.
