As a restaurant owner, I bet you are always facing either one of these situations – lack of food sales or overloaded with customer orders. What if there’s an online solution that can help you solve these problems? With GloriaFood’s restaurant online takeout ordering system, you’ll be amazed by how it will improve the efficiency of your business.
What Is GloriaFood?
It is a delivery system that allows restaurants (or any type of food outlets for that matter) to publish food menus on their business website or Facebook page and receive online orders in a timely manner. Here’s a short video to show you how this awesome tool works.
How to Create an Online Ordering System for Your Restaurant?
After you sign up for a user account with GloriaFood, you’ll be directed to a setup page that will require some basic information about your restaurant locality. This will sync with Google Map on the background so that you get a bird’s eye view of your business place and its surroundings.
In the ordering system, there are two types of services that you can choose – pickup and/or delivery. When you choose a pickup, customers can order at a certain time in advance and for delivery, you can set the delivery zones and fees that you would charge for the orders.
You can also set how you want to commence the payment, either through cash or manual card transaction. The good thing about GloriaFood is that it comes with an app that you can download on mobile devices so that you can keep track of orders coming in even while you are on the go.
The next step is to translate your food menu into an online version which includes clear images, good description and the price of the food. Make sure that all the details are correct and precise because customers are going to expect that when their food arrives. If you have a long list of menu, consider getting the GloriaFood team to create the online menu instead.
Once the menu, ordering and payment system has all been integrated, you are ready to create the order button. There are two ways of doing that – publishing on your Facebook page or on your restaurant website. Using a business website as an example, you’ll just need to grab the HTML code and paste it on the webpage where you want the button to appear.
Now, if you go to the front end of the page, you’ll find the ‘See Menu And Order’ button. When someone clicks on it, a small browser will pop up, displaying information about the food menu, delivery information and the checkout cart.
Within minutes, customers can place their orders and your team can get started preparing the food. That’s pretty much how the takeout ordering system works. Simple isn’t it?
What Other Services Do They Provide?
If you don’t want to handle cash, you can also choose the online payment system method. Meanwhile, GloriaFood do provide reports to display your sales and statistics for your marketing campaign if you are launching a promotion.
How Much Does It Costs?
The whole setup process that I’ve just demonstrated is created on a free account and you can receive unlimited orders without having to pay any commission to the service provider.
The only time a fee is involved is when you need to use online/credit card payment which will cost $29/month OR when you need help configuring menus into the online version.

Wow. This is amazing. There is similar concept launching in Singapore. I believe this is the way to go in the future. In cities, labour cost has become a burden for restaurant owners. And as their diner, we wouldn’t want to wait for 30 minutes to place our order and for food to arrive, especially during peak hours. This is definitely a good concept.

With more customers searching for things online, we can certainly expect more restaurant owners to use the internet to create better online presence for their business. Preparing an online menu with an ordering system in place will make their service far more attractive and that’s something to really think about.

Cathy,
I came across your site here in the midst of doing some research in online tools for building businesses. I love the layout of your site and I thank you for being so thorough in your reviews. It’s nice to find sincere, trustworthy reviews on the internet still! I don’t currently operate in the restaurant industry, but as I network with folks in the community I will most certainly keep this in mind to recommend to local businesses that could benefit.
Seems like a great R.O.I. for a tool like this, why would someone NOT use it?! Time = money in today’s world and this tool seems like a great way to multiply a restaurant’s time!

Hi Cathy, This food order platform sounds promising. I am a mom of a 2 y-old and I stopped going to the restaurant. With a kid that age, it can get very messy. I wish my favorite food shops and restaurants would offer such a great service. I usually call to order food 5 times a month. I don’t mind go and pick it up myself but would really love to do this online. I could place an order before the restaurant open and mention at what time I would pick it up. Instead, I have to call and hope the line is free. Do you know if this is available in Canada? Thanks!
Cathy says
Hi Carolyn, I can see how online food ordering can make your life more convenient. However, I am not from Canada so I wouldn’t know which outlet has that kind of system in place. Sorry bout that.

Although I do not own a restaurant I feel that this is great for consumers. In this day and age of technology coming into our lives even more so then this is bound to happen. There is a similar product available to Australia. I forget the name of this but this sounds very much similar. I did wonder though do you believe if there is competition with this type of service this will be good for consumers? It sounds very similar to all the hotel comparisons sites, and other similar sites.
Cathy says
Hi there Owain, I believe the company that’s available in Australia is called Order Up. Restaurants that implement this type of ordering system will make food delivery to the customers more efficient and in that sense, it will give you the edge to compete with your competitors in the same locality.
